Prince George Humane Society hasn't added a story.
Julia, first started the adventure for Boogie With the Stars in 2020 when her friend Angela McLean (CEO of the PG Humane Society). Julia was absolutely pumped to have the opportunity to support such a great “paws” and at the same time learn how to dance. As Covid continued on, the time ran out for Angela’s ability to participate. Julia had to pivot quickly and asked the one and only Sasparilla Foxx if she would step up Julia’s game. Sassparilla sprung into action to choreograph and get this team in working order.
Julia Dillabough “has got the boog-aloo built in'' recognized by her mother from a very young age; she was always boogying around the house. From hometown hockey celebrity to Community Champion, she lives and breathes community involvement. Julia is the TELUS Manager of Community and Service Excellence for the Cariboo region. She is currently a board of director for the Quesnel and District Chamber of Commerce, in 2022 she was appointed as a board of director to the Provincial Health Services Authority and recently joined the 2024 BC Winter Games directorship as the Director of Technology. Boogie with the Stars is the icing on the cake.
When Julia is not at her day job, she can be found at her family ranch, Triple J Ranch Trailrides just North of Quesnel where she enjoys showing off her property by horseback to those horse enthusiasts who want to learn or get back in the saddle again. Her 17 horses will be whinnying away in support of bringing in the funds for those animals in need and to kick up her hooves in fun while dancing the night away!
Jessie Herman aka Sasparilla Foxx attended the Royal Winnipeg Ballet school. Sass danced with several Ballet Companies & across the seas for Carnival cruise lines only to land right where she once started in her home town Quesnel. Sass and her mom Sandy Herman have kept the community of Quesnel dancing for over 40 years running Gold Pan City Dance. Sass is a multi award winning artist, most recently winning first place in the 2020 Canada’s Burlypicks & 3rd in the world competition. Sass is the founder/ director of The Foxxie Follies and the wildly entertaining Itty Bitty Burlesque Festival that brings in Burlesque artists from all over the world.
When she is not living her life as a dance professional, she is cultivating her flower farm Chicka D’s Flowers, as well as being a support worker for the visually impaired. She is beyond thrilled to be slipping on some ballroom heels for this amazing organization, the PG Humane Society. She knows her pooch Gus will be howling for her with excitement as she lights up the dance floor with some new moves, wowing the crowd with all of her twists and gaze!
“We feel every animal deserves a good home and to be treated with dignity and respect. This is what we feel we are representing in supporting the Prince George Humane Society. The PG Humane Society cares for the animals and wants to make sure the animals they rescue are going to their forever homes.”
